1998 Saturn

When the time came for my husband to look for a new car, I came along with him as I wanted to make sure he would get a good and safe car.

We looked in several places and I was not satisfied with the safety of the car and nagged my husband about it. Finally we ended up looking at the Saturn.

The salesperson was a very friendly guy who let us hit the doors with a hammer and then continued giving us information about the car. I was impressed with the safety of the car and the interior. The driver's seat and the passenger seat are very comfortable and with enough space for movement. However, the back seats have less space and are a little more cramped.

My husband surprised me when he came home in the Saturn and I got in. It has a great sunroof and is economical. I decided this was a the car I was looking for.

I am always looking for clip art for my website and to make my own backgrounds, calling cards, globes, etc. and finding good clip art to use is a very burdensome task.

There are so many packages that appear to be good and in reality are not. Some of these packages have very limited content or have a very poor quality content. If you want something that will benefit you, IMSI is the package to have.

After having spend an incalculable amount of hours looking for something that would be beneficial for my site, my husband got the IMSI package and there it was! Everything that I could want or need was at my command. The clip art is excellent! It has become my main source of pics and of inspiration. With this package there is nothing that you cannot do on your website.

Any person who works on a website should have one of this.

Why a 13 Warrior?

It seems that the script of the movie was written in a hurry. The movie is interesting in that the 13th warrior becomes part of something he does not know and does not understand. However, he goes ahead and becomes the 13th warrior. Also, pairing these two completely different groups is not believable at all.

The movie is very bloody and it is very difficult to follow. By the end of the movie you wonder why was he there in the first place? Did he learn anything? Did he violated any of his believes?

There are too many lose ends and the action itself is somewhat lame. The most interesting part is the mentality of the enemy and their way of fighting.

This movie is more than anything a show off for Antonio Banderas. Nevertheless, I happen to find the king a very interesting character. In order to understand the movie, you will have to see it again and try to find out what motivates this warrior.

Could it Happen? (Bats)

I cannot deny that I love horror movies. I can say that there are not too many horror movies I have not watched.

This is one of those movies who start slowly and it has the typical problems where the hero or heroin of the movie does not know why the bats are the way they are and how can they be destroyed.

The plot normally goes the same way in most of the movies and at the end of course the hero or heroin win at the expense of several mishaps and deaths. It is bad enough that the poor creatures (bats) are very misunderstood and killed thanks to misunderstanding of the creatures.

The movie is not as interesting as it could have been as of course, the government is involved and as a consequence the situations everyone go through are predictable.

For a cheap thrill, this is the movie to watch. And if you already have misconceptions about bats, believe me, this movie will increase your dislike for the creatures.

Nokia 5160 AMPS / D-AMPS Cellular Phone

This is the second phone I got. The first one was not of good quality and after letting my husband know how I felt about it, he gave me the Nokia phone.

Now, this is a phone of very good quality that does not run out on you in the middle of a conversation and has several very useful features. My favorite is the Phone book, which gives you the capability to store phone numbers that are important to you.

Another good quality is that it can also serve as a pager so you do not miss on important messages while doing something else. It also serves as an answering machine as you can leave a message that the person will be allowed to retrieve later, keeps a call log, has different settings and even has a game.

The quality is excellent and it is a very useful tool. I recommend it.

No Mystery here! (Thomas Crown Affair)

This is one of those movies that you regret getting as soon as you start playing it. Maybe the script looked funny, but once it got to the screen it was a big, and I mean big flop.

I do not know why these people thought they were making a funny movie which had the potential to be successful. The characters are totally dumb and there is not a speck of intelligence anywhere.

This movie should be use as an example of what kind of movie not to make. It can be said that is worse than the Attack of the Killer Tomatoes. I watched the entire movie in fast forward and did not miss anything.

A Victorian Tale of Love and Prejudice (The Mill on the Floss)

The Victorian Age produced an innumerable amount of great books and equally great writers that wrote stories pertaining to the lives of the writers. The Mill on the Floss is one of my favorite books because its content is full of the ways of thinking of that age and the prejudice that existed against women as they were supposed to be only wives and mothers.

George Elliot uses Maggie as an outlet for her experiences as a child growing up in an era where men were to be the only ones getting an education and were to be the only intelligent ones.

The story is enchanting. It has every situation imaginable that applies to siblings, relationships, abuse and immeasurable love that can affect each one of us.

In its setting is very descriptive of not only the surroundings but the characters as well. Maggie is full of life and spunk as well as incredible intelligence and has so much love for those around her. At that time, an intelligent woman was a shame for the family.

All of her books are similar in their descriptiveness and contain great stories. George Elliot is one of the best writers that the Victorian age produced and should be read by everyone as there is a lot we can learn from her writings.

Even though it is a very long novel, I highly recommend it.

A curious setting (Parasite Eve)

When I got this game I put it on a shelf and forgot all about it. For some reason I wasn't interested in the game.

There was a day filled with problems and with no great situations and as a way to vent my frustration, I picked up the game and started to play it. As I played the first level I was bored but enjoying the characters and the graphics. Of course, my opinion started to change as soon as I started playing the second level.

I also have to admit that the story got me curious as to what was the relationship of the characters and what the end would be. However, I found the movie at the end of the game a little sad.

The action is very good and the movies are there to wet your appetite and to build excitement for the ending.

The game got me so enthralled that I refused to go to bed the first night and the second night I got to bed late. Moreover, when I finished playing the game the first day, I didn't remember what had happened during the day and was looking forward to the next.

Final Fantasy Dream

This is one of the games with amazing graphics, action and movie. A great combination that keeps entertained and looking forward to get to the next battle and get all the items needed for a successful ending.

I have spent hours playing this game as I found it fascinating, the movies within the game can be sometimes a little long but are entertaining at the same time.

The story is very cute and the characters are fun. The game is enthralling as there are many things about it and there are so many things needed to be done in order to complete it successfully.

If you want a game that has all of these things and at the same time makes you think, this is the game for you.

I loved it and eventually will play it again. It is an excellent tool to vent one's frustrations.

MediEvil's Life Span

Playing these type of games can be very frustrating but very therapeutic at the same time. The graphics are good, the characters are simple and yet they keep the person entertained.

It is a way to get out your frustration and all other things that have gone wrong during the day that get bottled up inside. Even though different people find different ways to handle some of their emotions, mine is playing these games. And you know, it works for me!

I liked this game so much that I had played it three times and eventually will play it again. The action on this game is a lot more extensive than some of the other games available at the moment. You get to actually play 90% of the time and there are puzzles and riddles to solve which also make the game one that will not be played in automatic pilot by the player.

It is very entertaining and getting the items from the Hall of Heroes is one of the great prizes of the game. Moreover, the highest prize is the satisfaction of having completed the game.

Mythological Creatures (Lake Placid)

There are several good things I can say about this movie. Scenery, sarcasm, and actors. As for the plot: Have seen similar ones and a lot more exciting.

The place where it was filmed has beautiful scenery and it definitely looks like the kind of place a lot of people will go to spend some relaxation time. Most of the lines of the movie are delivered with a zing that gets you laughing at what it is said and you have some known actors who we are familiar with and feel comfortable.

Besides those things, the movie has a very common plot, it is not scarry or even unpredictable. There is only one interesting twist in the entire movie and to tell you the truth, it is not enough to make this a good movie. It is mildly enjoyable to say the most.

I definitely see why it was not shown at theaters for too long.

Beauty Pageants (Drop Dead Gorgeous)

Beauty Pageants are one of the most liked events not only in real life but on television as well. However, there is always a two-sides for anything and this movie pucks fun at these things.

Lets look at these pageants. It is only recently that we have starting to hear more and more often what are the things that some of the contestants go through and they are not nice. Nonetheless, these girls and their families do put themselves through them in order to obtain whatever title they are pursuing.

Are these situations somewhat silly for must of us? Absolutely. But how many times have we done something that appears inconsequential to someone else? About the same times we have consider someone else's actions dumb.

This movie makes fun at some of the people that are related to these pageants and show us situations that are not entirely foreign to us. The movie has funny scenes and others are just scenes. However, it makes for an entertaining movie if you have a warped sense of humor. Which I have.

Two Favorites

These are two of my favorite stories and I have watched over and over again. I love the Grinch's dog and Horton is absolutely great.

If you want to have fun with your entire family, these are only two of the stories Dr. Seuss wrote and are stories that will go down in history, and hopefully will be handed from generation to generation.

Not only are these stories good for the child's imagination, but it also teaches them that everyone has a heart, the meaning of Christmas, believing in yourself, listening to others and not to judge others in a skip. However, these are lessons that we, the parents will influence and change as we will dote our children with our idiosyncrasies. Nonetheless, have your youngsters watch these movies. They will give them something to be entertained with and at the same time they can learn.

Moreover, have your kids read all of Dr. Seuss books and watch all the movies made out of them, it will be a good experience.

Lessons for Life

I grew-up in a home where my parents worked and I was with the help while not at school and my sister and I had a person who would only take care of us and do nothing else, thereby, I never learned to do any chores as everything I wanted was done for me. There was only two rules that we had to follow; one, we would make our beds every morning and two, we would follow strict schedules.

When I was finally old enough to start doing things around the house, I had some of the most difficult time of my life. I had to learn to do chores and include them on my daily life. I realized then than learning these survival skills from a very early age are a must in everyone's lives, specially if you are going to working.

The saying goes "Monkey see, monkey do", and this is exactly the same mistake I made with my son. I started with him when he was a little old and more difficult to have them cooperate with household chores, or chores in general. Now that he is a man, doing chores are a chore, but he still can handle them.

A Good Example for Children (Sesame Street)

I used to watch this program with my son every day. He grew up with it and now that he is a man, he has very fond memories of the show, and so do I.

This is the classic example of a quality show for children. It helps them to use their imagination, learn basic things, and have fun at the same time. Also there is a continuity factor that they learn and it gives the kids assurance that the same people and the same characters are going to be there show after show, and year after year. They have the feeling that they are going to have the same people in their lives. It gives children stability.

Even though my son is a grown man now, I still watch Sesame Street once in a while to see what is new and believe it or not, I have all of Elmo's tapes. This is a character that definitely brings a smile to your face. You should make sure that any kid you know watches this kind of show while with you. It will help them grow up in a good TV environment.

American Airlines

I have been travelling for the past twenty-nine years and have used most airlines in circulation, (and some long gone) and one of my favorites used to be American Airlines. The service was good, the stewardess were friendly and the overall atmosphere of plain travel was a happy experience.

Recently I had to go to three different places on three different occasions and I used American Airlines. Two of the trips were mostly enjoyable with minor inconveniences here and there but the third one was not a happy one. There were several unpleasant smells, the food was bad and the stewardess had a plastic smile. It was the first time in my life that I hated been on a plain. By the people's expressions, they were not having a good time either.

American Airlines' services are sliding-down and travel with them has become unpleasant.

Story of a Woman (Mrs. Dalloway)

Mrs. Dalloway is a very well written book with a very solid story plot and interesting characters.

Following the life of Mrs. Dalloway and the other characters is a pleasure and an interesting journey that makes you think. What is what keeps these people together? Where do they come from and are there any similarities between them? How similar to them are we?

Another fascinating part of the book is that whatever is happening to any of the characters can be happening to us, today, even though time frame is different.

It was a pleasure reading this book and getting to know the characters, their lives and their thoughts.

World Of Fantasy (A Midsommer Night's Dream)

This is the most light hearted piece Shakespeare ever wrote. It has humor, fantasy, and love.

Even though Shakespeare is one of the greatest, his works are very somber and tragic. Moreover, they are very difficult to understand. Nonetheless, this piece is a thrill from beginning to end. The characters are solid and very human. The situations arising out of their desires and the desires of the fairies are very humorous to say the least.

The love that exist between the characters is also breath taking. These characters are willing to do whatever it takes in order to stay with their loved ones.

If you want to read an entertaining piece which will also give your imagination flight, this is the one to read and enjoy.

Not Communicating (Sony Ericsson DH-618)

My husband gave me one of these phones so he could keep in touch with me when I was in a place other than home.

I was thrilled that my husband had thought in giving me one so he could talk to me in other place than home. However, the cell phone started giving me problems as soon as I got it. Within three days of having it the phone died and had to be replaced.

After replacing the phone, the battery died so another one was needed and sometimes I did not receive any of the calls, and the ones I received would go dead in the middle of the conversation.

Too make the story short, I put the phone away and haven't used it at all. This is a cell phone that shouldn't be out.

Everything You Need (Microsoft Office 2000)

I upgraded my software from Microsoft 98 to 2000. It was easy enough to install that it did not give me any problems nor did cause any glitches as a result of the install. As a matter of fact, it has not given me any trouble and I use it very often.

It has everything I need to write documents, keep control of what my company does, keep accurate information, graphs and numbers in Excel, has easy and understandable tools to create and publish web pages and also allows me to do press releases and other tasks.

It may be a difficult tool for some people as it has so much that it may appear as a lot of is is not needed, but once you learn how to use all the tools you find it to be a very efficient tool.

Reversing Asthma: Breathe Easier With This Revolutionary New Program

I developed asthma in 1984. I thought I was very old to start suffering from it and of course I was given all the drugs available for such an illness.

I have been hospitalized more than three times and almost died as a result of how bad the attacks did get. The situation continue to deteriorate and one day, I believe for my birthday, my husband gave me "Reversing Asthma" as a present.

Needless to say, I fell in love with the book and has become my health bible. I have done everything the book recommends and I have not have an asthma attack ever since! Not only that but my health in general has improved. At the beginning it may be somewhat overwhelming creating so many changes, but once you start, your health immediately improves.

This is a book that needs to be read by the millions of asthmatics taking drugs to keep breathing and therefore find out that there is a healthier and less damaging alternative.

The Pillars of the Earth

The twelfth century was a very tumultuous time, and Ken Follett captures the times and lives of the people who were part of it.

The way of living, the intrigues, bravery and cowardice, dedication, love and other array of emotions depicted in this book are timeless as they apply to anyone at any point in time. The actions of some of the characters are admirable and their dedication to accomplish their goals is superb.

This was also a time when faith was demonstrated by the building of Cathedrals and their protection as this was the only place where the sacred books and words were kept. Moreover the priests were the only ones having access to the teachings and the Cathedral's provided a place for people to gather and learn.

The book not only is fantasy based but it contains also historical events that took place at the time.

Dracula

It has been said that when Stoker wrote Dracula, he was suffering greatly as a result of his wife's death. For whatever reason he wrote the book, he started a string on dreams and nightmares for all of us. Moreover, he created a classic.

As of today, there has not been a Dracula book or movie that can compare to his creation. This is a book that puts forth the eternal conflict between good and evil and our imagination runs wild with the thought of immortality. However, in this book, the price for immortality is one's soul.

As a classic book, it should be read by all, and all should be able to use their imagination to create the world and the character's written on the pages.

Asimov's Guide to Shakespeare: A Guide to Understanding and Enjoying the Works of Shakespeare

Reading or watching a Shakespearean play can be somewhat confusing and difficult to follow even though his works are the best in the English language.

Asimov's book is of great help in understanding Shakespeare while giving you inside to Shakespeare himself. Reading or watching one of his plays with this book makes life much more easier. I remember reading Shakespeare at a very early age and was totally confused by his plays, especially "The Tempest". Even though I understood that Ariel was not human, I didn't truly know who he was and what was his background. I got my answer reading Asimov's book. All of the sudden, the entire play made sense.

For those who are literature lovers this is a must book to have.

Enigma For The Soul

There are not many groups that I follow as much as I have followed Enigma. I have all the records released as of today and I am constantly looking for their new releases.

Even though there are many people and groups that have emerged as part of the New Age music, Enigma's sounds are totally different from everything you have listened to for a long time. Maybe is the Gregorian chants, maybe is the rhythm or maybe is all of it combined. Whatever it is, I can listen to their music all day long.

Their music makes me feel at peace, happy and sometimes helps me to take my imagination to very creative places. Because of the effect it has on me, I am a nicer person for the rest of the day after listening to Enigma. Actually, my laptop can play CDs and I am listening to it as I work. The effect the music has on those who listen to it is pretty impressive.

This is the best music in the market.

Good for small children (Inspector Gadget)

This is a movie that is good only for small children. It is not funny or enjoyable for adults. The characters and the plot are weak and boring.

I asked my husband to get the movie for me as I am an Everett fan and have seen Broderick in a play and think of him as a good actor. I was very disappointed at the movie and the characters. The most entertaining character is the car.

My husband and I watched it together and he was as disappointed at the movie as I was. I normally force him to watch with me the movies I want to see and this time I am sorry I made him watch this movie.

I have a VHS and DVD collection that is huge, and this is one of the movies that I will put away and hide in a place we can forget we have it.

The Haunting

I have watched this movie about four times. The first time was when it was released and my son invited me to see the movie and the other times after my son bought the DVD.

I still find the movie entertaining. I like the characters and their different approaches to life and the unknown and believe that Taylor portrays a very believable character. It has many outstanding scenes and the special effects are fantastic.

As much as I enjoyed the movie, is nothing compared to my son. My son loves it. He watches it very often and still has the same reaction to it than the first time he saw it. As for my husband, it is a different matter as we have different taste in movies. I believe he found it mildly interesting.

Entrapment

I am a big Connery fan and I think that Jones is a very beautiful and talented actress. However, I didn't feel any chemistry happening between the two characters.

I enjoyed the action and the situations they are put in. I also found interesting Jones' character as she proves to be a very strong woman and yet vulnerable. Of course, I don't find Connery to have any faults in anything he does.

There is a twist in the movie that took me by surprise and I liked it. This is a movie you should see with someone else.

I watched it with my son first and then with my husband. My son thought that Jones' was very good and my husband didn't like the movie. As I watched it for the second time, I paid attention to small details I had missed the first time and I liked the movie better. Like I said before, it has an interesting twist.

Some Surprises at Sea (Deep Blue Sea)

I am a fanatic of suspense and horror movies. I believe there is no suspense or horror movie I have not seen. Therefore, being surprised by such movies is very pleasant.

I liked this movie because it has a several events you do not expect to happen and it makes for an interesting time. It makes you think about the dangers resulting from experimenting with animals regardless of how good the intentions are and how fragile nature can be.

One of the most important factors for an interesting movie is believable characters and the characters of this one are believable, specially Jackson.

A Dead Movie (General's Daughter)

I am a fanatic of suspense and horror movies. I believe there is no suspense or horror movie I have not seen. Therefore, being surprised by such movies is very pleasant.

I liked this movie because it has a several events you do not expect to happen and it makes for an interesting time. It makes you think about the dangers resulting from experimenting with animals regardless of how good the intentions are and how fragile nature can be.

One of the most important factors for an interesting movie is believable characters and the characters of this one are believable, specially Jackson.

Atlas Shrugged

Rand writes about those of us who spend more than 60 hours a week working and obtaining a product. She also writes about those who do not do more than what they are supposed to do and sometimes do even less.

She writes about the struggles going on in the hard workers' lives, their doubts, realizations and the desperation of having to continue to produce regardless of the circumstances surrounding them. It is easy to identify with the characters and feel for them as you see yourself on that position. The fight between high quality individuals and very low quality individuals presents and accurate portrayal of those who work their heads off and obtain what they have through hard work and intelligence, and those who only put forty hours per week and rely on their friends to obtain success.

It shows how life rewards hard work and punishes the other kind. It also gives you a good feeling of being a female and of being productive. Makes you feeling good about yourself and thinking on what you need to do to accomplish happiness.
